One month.
Let me rephrase that, one month... finished!
If I can be vegetarian for a month, anybody can do it.
How 'bout you try it? I think you'll like it.
- What did I eat on Day 31?
Breakfast. Raisin Bran. It was a hard decision, we have eight boxes of cereal to choose from right now. But, I went with a classic.
Lunch. Leftover rigatoni. Still tasty, even when reheated in the microwave.
Dinner. I had baked potatoes with Sockarooni sauce over them with salad. Now that was a quick, simple, delicious meal!
I have too much to do tonight to make this blog entry much longer, but you should know that as the end date approaches I find myself less and less excited about the possibility of eating meat.
Maybe there's something wrong with me.
31 days down. Just 9 to go!

Congratulations on your month of vegetarianism! I just wanted to say hi. Since you've named this the "go veg project" I've been getting Google alerts whenever you post. I have a Web site called VegProject.org, it's a listing of all the completely meat-free restaurants in the U.S. (it's not up to date yet).
ReplyDeleteIt takes a bit of courage to go veg in a less veg-friendly region and it looks like you've taken easy steps to try it out. It always blows my mind that people think it's so hard. There is SO much other great stuff to eat besides meat. When you think about it, there is more non-meat stuff to eat than meat stuff.
I've been veg for 25 years, and the past five years has been more easy than ever because of the natural foods movement and all the incredible restaurants opening up. And I haven't had to explain my eating choices so much. I'm not a vegetarian to make a statement-I just like good food. I'm just lucky that my preferences happen to be healthier and better for the environment.
So (getting to the point now) thanks for proving that eating veg really isn't that difficult. Good luck with the rest of it!
